I'm sorry for the inconvenience in the meantime. I'm actively watching this bug Andrew, so I will let you know as soon as we have any updates on this. Slack.appAnd then put in -disable-gpu-rasterization

Paste in the following: cd /Applications/Slack.app/Contents/MacOS/. If your Antivirus/Anti-malware Software indicates the Sierra Chart installer or one of the files it installs, as being unsafe or infected, then refer to Antivirus/Anti-malware Software Flagging Sierra Chart Installer or other Files as Unsafe/Infected.Sierra Chart is safe and these are false positives. If you're noticing this is really disruptive, you could give Slack a go on a browser, or trying the the steps below (though I'm afraid the steps are not a guaranteed fix!). It sounds like Chromium has patched the bug in their latest version, so we're working hard on this end to get that into our next Slack app release. It turns out that there is a bug with Chromium (we use it in the underlying framework for Slack) conflicting with Apple's High Sierra (10.13) and NVIDIA graphics processing units. You're definitely not the first user to see this issue, and I'm really sorry about the trouble it has caused you. Thanks so much for writing in today and letting us know about this. Update: I reached out to Slack, since their app has been flickering the most for me. If only the Software Engineers had the courage to give the marketing guys the birdie when forcing a release of a not thorougly tested software. Furthermore, this latest update improved on the handling of memory. Nonetheless, stability matters more to me. Now, it takes much longer for the VM to start and restart, much like a normal hard disk. #PARALLELS UPDATE FOR SIERRA PRO#
I use Parallels Desktop Pro for Mac, and after the recent 16.1.1 update things still run smoothly. My wife hasn't complained anymore about it. Ignore negative reviews about Parallels Desktop. I couldn't notice anything strange during this time. not strictly speaking), now and then I used the web-browser and some applications.

I set up my computer running from full battery and placed it at our dinner table, removed every energy saving setting and watched it during the whole day (well. The spinning globe I mentioned, I have no idea but probably not related. I usually change these values to something higher. Although, I suspect that it was the energy saving that kicked in pretty fast since the values were reset during re-install. My wife experienced a black screen after re-install to El Capitan, and of course, complained about it. The black screen that was seen now and then with High Sierra is gone. I have to admit, this seems not to be the case. According to my earlier post the problem was still left after reinstalling El Capitan.
